About Me

Hello to all members!  I am the Memership Chairperson for The NOLA Voice Talent Foundation.  This is a new assignment for me, and we are endeavoring to add a personal touch as new people join our site.  I am not a voice actor, but I "live it" with my dear husband Stephen James.  Each year I look forward to our "It's A Wonderful Life" Christmas performance and you will see me there!

About Me

After high school I spent over a little over 10 years in the Air force.  I am a USAF NCO Academy graduate. I have over 38 years in all aspects of Computers and IT from programming to IT management. I have been a photographer for 35+ years, over 2 years professionally. During over 35+ years in business I progressed from Material mover to Management Consultant.

In 2011 I began a screenwriting partnership with a friend which has resulted in one completed screenplay with several more in the works. In 2013 I was “downsized” out of the corporate world and has spent have time since focusing on learning all aspects of Film and Video production and acting. I recently took a course in "looping" and was selected for a sholarshipped slot in an advanced class.  I found I enjoyed the work challenging and enjoyed it a great deal.

About Me

I have enjoyed a long career in broadcasting since the mid-60s (a long time). I began as a show host on Baton Rouge R&B radio station WXOK, then became a news co-anchor and reporter at WRBT-TV (Baton Rouge), then the same position back at WXOK;  then moved to legendary news talk outlet WJBO/WFMF (Baton Rouge) as anchor/reporter. I have also done stints in news at  1280 WGSO (New Orleans) , served as a sports correspondent for WODT (New Orleans), and have served as sports correspondent for American Urban Radio's "Black College Football Weekly" for 12 years. I currently serve as a jazz music show host at Internationally acclaimed community radio station WWOZ in New Orleans. Oh, I am also a Clinical Psychologist by training. I love people, of course, live jazz and blues music, movies and TV, and internet surfing.

About Me
I was a educator for 18 years and learned the craft of speaking as part of my daily job. Growing up in central Louisiana (Avoyelles Parish) afforded me the opportunity to be steeped in several cultures including French, Irish, and English. From the consonant-slipping of the French-English dialect to the twang of the European-English pronunciations to the Creole-Caribbean speak of the African Americans, I soaked it all in. Language and dialects fascinate me and my goal is to bring authentic American dialects to the voice acting.

Jackson Townsend has been performing in community theaters off and on since he was eight years old in Buffalo, NY. He studied acting at Carnegie-Mellon University and has appeared on several New Orleans stages, starting with the old Tulane Arena Theatre. More recently, he has worked with Southern Rep., Rivertown Rep., The Shakespeare Festival at Tulane, the Cripple Creek Theatre Company and others. He also appeared with Josh Brolin in the Warner Bros. film, Jonah Hex. Until his retirement, he worked in the field of academic media design and production, spending many years with the LSU Health Sciences Center. He holds a Master of Science degree in Communications (Television and Radio) from Syracuse University, and a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of New Orleans. He is married with three sons.

What is your experience in voice-acting?

Work with NOLA Voice Theatre and with NOLA Voice Talent Foundation

What is your ambition in voice-acting?

I consider voice acting to be a natural extension of theater acting, a pursuit I have loved my entire life. Ideally, audio books and video games would let me engage my talents in character portrayal, as well as with certain dialects and accents. That said, narration and commercial work is an important form of voice communication, and an activity I would welcome as well.

About Me
The music industry isn't new to me.  I spent 15 years dedicated to this field in lots of ways.  My bachelors in audio recording from Berklee College of Music gave me complete access to jobs requiring microphones and their placement, console use, knowlege of control room sends and returns, troubleshooting, sessions etiquette, overdubbing, mixing, recording, studio management, remote recording for television, and professionalism. I spent five or so years as either engineer or assistant engineer. I produced a 5-song EP for which I sang, wrote songs and played electric bass and piano.  Although not any professional submissions of voiceovers, I have recorded them and understand the principles. 25 years ago I left the field because the live sound aspect was too rigorous for me. I loved all of my studio sessions, producing, and recording and am really glad to have the opportunity to be at a home mic and work at my own pace.  :)

What is your experience in voice-acting?

3+ professional recordings of others voice acting, singing lessons, business communication courses 2 semesters, and grad school business presentations

What is your ambition in voice-acting?

I choose to improve my voice and home recording quality for commercials, trailers, audio books, and jingles.
